With the outbreak of COVID-19, many people have been tested for the virus, but due to lack of resources, the overwhelming majority have not been tested. It is therefore assumed that there we are underestimating the number of people who have caught the virus.
Using self-report, you can get a better picture of how many people have symptoms without exposing health workers to potential contamination hazards and without using up valuable infection control equipment that is already in short supply. BustByte and a bunch of volunteers all over the world created this tool in response to
as an attempt to chart these numbers.
This was never an official tool of the authorities. For more information about the outbreak we refer to health authorities which always have updated information.
We want to thank everyone who contributed their time and skills to this project. A special thanks goes out to Adriaan van Rossum (Simple Analytics) for donating domain names and analytics. We also want to thank Luke Seelenbinder (Stadia Maps) for donating licenses to Stadia Maps. The design and UX was in large part the result of the hard work by Amrit Nagi (TailwindToolbox). And finally, a huge thanks to DigitalOcean for sponsoring the infrastructure costs of all our servers via. their Hub for Good program.
